Cute but Easy Halloween Costumes

Happy Monday Loves

Today I’m sitting in my bed thinking about how Halloween is in approximately a week and a half and I have no costumes ready. When you’re attending 3 halloween events, your not gonna want to spend much time and money but of course you wanna look cute. Here are some of the best last minute halloween costumes for if your as last minute as I am:

Euphoria Character

Euphoria is such a popular show this year known for its unique makeup and cool fashion. This costume is so easy. Wear a vibrant cool outfit with pieces already in your closet and do a matching makeup look. Don’t be shy with glitter and rhinestones, this is a big part of the makeup. I love this costume idea so you will definitely see me rocking it this Halloween.

Space Cowgirls

Space cowgirls is such a fun costume I love it! This costume is a super easy DIY you and your friends can do together. Grab a cowgirl hat and add some sparkles and space related things. At fringe to and old skirt and wear a colourful or sparkly top. If you have a pair of cowgirl boots you should totally rock those but if not, a simple boot would also be cute.

Any Animal

Basic, I know that’s what your thinking, butttt if your in a rush this costume is super easy and let’s be honest, it never gets old. There are so many options too; a kitten, bunny, deer, cheetah, mouse, the list is endless. Get yourself a pair of animals and pair them with a cute dress or really anything. Makeup could also be done for any animal and this really adds a lot to the look. Heres a pic of a cheetah costume I did a couple years ago. Also I literally put this whole outfit together in one day. But, I loved how it turned out. I think the two different patterns, the cheetah and lace, look really cool together and also the makeup pulls everything together.

Fashion and TikTok

Good Afternoon Loves,

Incase you didn’t know, Tik Tok is the most popular app right now that allows people to make 60 second videos. Tik Tok is such a versatile platform for creators and fashion is a big part of that. As someone that loves fashion, my “For You” page is filled with fashion related content. I find tons of video’s giving outfit inspiration, teaching you how to sew, or giving fashion tips. I saw a huge increase in fashion on Tok Tok when brought 3 creators to New York Fashion Week for the first time ever in February. Whether you’re a watcher of styling videos on TikTok or don’t know where to start, there’s always plenty of amazing people out there making videos with a fun personality and fashion sensibility. From new takes on the classic “outfit of the day” to informative style guides, there’s now fashion content on Tik Tok for everyone.

Here is a link to a fashion related Tok Tok showing some of my fav outfits 🙂

The Trends This Fall

Fall is here and Im more than excited to pack up my tanks and shorts and cozy up. Fall is my favourite season when it comes to fashion. I love the trends that are in this year from patchwork to oversized sweaters. Here are some of my favourites this season

Leather

Forget leather jackets, this year we’re seeing it from head to toe. Leather pants are the most fun way to make an outfit totally fashion forward. You can pair them with basically any knit sweater. Leather trench coats are also super in. I have not yet got my hands on one but when I do I ill never take it off.

Sweater Vests

If you haven’t seen sweater vests yet this season, you must be living under a rock. I already own about 8 of them because they are just the perfect layering piece. You can wear an oversized one as a dress or layer them with blouses or a turtle neck underneath.

Prints

I know, you thought plaid was over, nope its back but this time we love it. Plaid is seen everywhere this season along with argyle. Animal print is still around thank god with snakeskin, leopard, and zebra all over. Polka dots are also a cute and quaint new pattern. You’ll see tons of fun patterns in my wardrobe this season.

Jackets

The jacket trends this year are irresistible. Jackets are so cool because they are so versatile. You can spice up simple jeans and top or add a simple one to a cool outfit. There are tons of trends I could talk about but here are a few of my favs; Fur Jackets. I LOVE Fur jackets (fake fur of course). Something about them makes your outfit look so put together and expensive. Next are Blazers, I don’t need to say much about them because everyone loves them. And last but not least, plaid coats. I recently got one and it is my favourite addition to my fall coats. They come in so many different styles and colours, there is one for everyone.

4 Tips to Becoming a Thrifting Pro

Hey Girl,

IDK about you but I love finding the cutest pieces at such a discounted price. Some people don’t understand that thrifting is a crucial part fo having the most unique wardrobe. As I told you guys in my last post, if recently thrifted a lot and feel that I have so many tips and tricks to share. So many gems and vintages pieces can be found and today I’m going to teach you how.

#1 Master the Scan

Scanning is a very important part of thrifting. Thrift stores have thousands and thousands of pieces that it would take hours to look through them all. When thrifting look for what kind of pattern, colour, or texture you want. This makes the process much faster

#2 Sell Pre- Loved Items Before

I alwayssss sell my clothes when going thrifting. Almost every thrift store will give you money for your items. Plato’s Closet is the best for that. The other day I brought my items there, shopped for a bit, and left with 3 new shirts and $30.

#3 Flip your Finds

When thrifting, never just look for pieces you’d wear right away. Many items I buy are simply because I love the pattern or texture and not just because of the garment. You can change many pieces simple with a quick hand sew or crop into something completely unique. Pictured below is a simple tank and shorts I thrifted. I simply cropped the top and bleach the dyed both pieces.

#4 Make a Plan

As for everything, making a plan helps things a lot. This way you aren’t looking for hours with no idea of what you actually want. I have an entire Pinterest board dedicated to pieces I want to find thrifting. Remember that you won’t always find exactly what you are looking for but have patience because there is most likely something very similar.

How I Survived Quarentine

Hey friends,

I haven’t posted in a while but I’m back now and better than ever. These past 7 months have been crazy but let me update you on what I’ve been doing ❤

Well starting off when the world shut down I think everyone was a little shook. I moved back home from school and things got boring. I was stuck at home doing not much but eating to much and watching youtube.

Finally I was allowed out of my house and drove to Orillia to see my best friends/roomies. We went for a nice lunch by the water and it was so fun finally seeing them after months.

my girlfriends xx

I spent a lot of time at my cottage in Muskoka. My friends got to come up and we spent a lot of time in the sun and learning how to wakeboard.

I don’t have too much to catch y’all up on because honestly I didn’t do much. But if I could cram my entire last 7 months into a paragraph. I spent a lot of time and money expanding my wardrobe. Ive gone thrifting alot because I’m trying to be more cautious and sustainable when it comes to everything I do. I spent a lot of time tanning and swimming. As much as I miss interracing with people, I grew a lot over quarantine and I wouldn’t change it for anything.

Thanks for keeping up, see u soon

PS. I got a puppy and her name is Molly

The Street Style Inspiration You Needed

Street Style has become a phenomenon in the fashion industry. A realistic style that can be recreated with items in your closet. Check out my favourite street style inspo here:

Skinny Jeans Out, Everything Else In

The Skinny Jean, its anew decade which means a new jean.
While let’s be honest, skinny jeans will never really go out fo stile. But this year, skinny jeans are being pushed to the back of the closet in favourer a looser fit jeans. The sudden abundance of non skinny jeans have ensured there’s a fit or flare for everyone.

Here are 4 new jean styles you need in your closet:

The Slouchy Jean:
Comfort is everything and these are the perfect jeans for that. These can be dresses up or dressed down and are honestly just a staple in my closet.
The Straight Leg:
Levi’s, Levi’s, Levi’s! Go to your nearest thrift store and get yourself a good pair of straight leg Levi’s. I personally think these should never go out of style.
The Girlfriend Jean:
The girlfriend style is just a more feminine style of boyfriend jeans. These jeans are so flattering on any body and a perfect basic jean.
Two Toned Jeans:
This style is so fun and cool! These were first a trend in 2016 but they have returned in style and I’m not mad about it.

2020 Spring Must Haves

Spring, the worst ever season for fashion if u ask me. Is it cold? Is it hot? Is it raining? Probably. Spring is just so unpredictable and also so wet. Two adjectives that don’t go well with my hair nor my clothes. With Fashion month coming to an end, we now know what were working with as far as spring trends go. Here are a few trends that are too cute not to be excited about:

Puff Sleeves

The Bandana

Pistachio

Loungewear is the new Streetwear

The loungewear trend is a style that is both comfortable but sleek at the same time. Lounge wear style can go from a comfy tracksuit set to a silk slip dress to an oversized baggy t-shirt. Even Kim Kardashian made a line called Skims which sells cute loungewear sets. Dress up these simple pieces with jewelry.
Embrace this trend while you can and I promise you’ll love it just as much as I do.
